Hvar Harbor |
If you haven’t been to Croatia, let me be the first one to tell you it's absolutely gorgeous. Croatia is Prague’s vacation getaway in the summer. Thousands of Czech people flock to the country of Croatia to soak up its beautiful scenery, warm weather, unbelievable food, and sweet-smelling lavender. So I decided to delve deeper into Czech roots, and spend a weekend in Prague’s most popular destinations.
While Croatia seems difficult to get to, it might not be as tough as it seems. There are round-trip flights from Prague, Vienna, and other cities close by. I personally chose to take a flight from Vienna, but any city close by works.
After I landed in Split, I realized that we had to take a ferry to get to our final destination, an island called Hvar. The island of Hvar is queen of the Dalmatian islands, which stem all along the coast of Croatia. Hvar has everything you need for an unforgettable weekend: rafting, Croatia’s national waterfall park, guided trips, and scenic resorts, just to name a few suggestions, but there is so much more to Hvar and Croatia than can be noted in words.

Sunset in Hvar |
Claiming to be the sunniest spot in all of Europe, the Croatian island of Hvar is the perfect destination for tourists seeking the beauty of the beaches without the crowds associated with better-known destinations. All worthy of exploration, Croatia has pathways lined with lavender, small fishing villages and local vineyards, and ferries and catamarans that carry visitors across waters to the surrounding islands.
Over the course of the weekend, we decided to rent our own boat, discover unexplored islands , go on an above water submarine, and swim in the crystal, blue Adriatic Sea.

Going to Croatia was one of the best decisions I had made all semester. Hvar is the prefect destination to see the beauty of Croatia and the Mediterranean beaches.
