A Day of Safaris in South Africa

Just this past week, I was lucky enough to spend a Saturday doing two amazing safaris. The first one was at Addo Elephant National Park, where we were in our own bus. The second safari was at Schotia where we sat in open Range Rovers. It was such an incredible experience to be so close to all the beautiful creatures native to South Africa.

Addo Elephant National Park!

One of the MANY elephants we saw at Addo.

A baby zebra and its mom!

The only water buffalo we saw...he was a wee bit camera shy

Our transport at Schotia

One of the young lions we saw

This lion was happily munching on a zebra

The little giraffe family we were able to get
really close to!

Some giant ostrich eggs at Addo

This is a Red Heart Beast...also known as a bikini bottom.
His nickname comes from the his white rear which appears to
have been in a bikini bottom while he tanned :)

Adorable baby warthogs!

Our little dinner that was held after the Schotia
safari (we got to try antelope goulash!)

The only two rhinos in the reserve at Schotia!

Ending the night with a yummy dinner and a warm fire at Schotia!

I hope you enjoyed a few snippets of the safari!
