CEA Excursions: Siena and Assisi

CEA Florence took us on two other excursions to Siena and Assisi. It was great to get out of the city for a little while and explore some smaller, more traditional Italian towns.

Siena's Duomo was my favorite cathedral we visited over the course of the semester. Loved the black and white stripes!

Snow in Siena!

We snacked on some giant Tuscan grapes in the Piazza del Campo, where they have horse races twice every year.

In Siena, we took our time and spent the majority of it in Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi. This is where St. Francis is buried. This was also one of my favorites, so unique.

We attempted to walk to another historical sight (that I can't remember the name of at the moment), but the road was closed. The picture above doesn't do the scenery justice!

Instead we went for a long lunch and tried some Umbrian cuisine. Delicious!
