Elisenda Figuerola
Elisa (Eli) ensures the good process of the daily operations related to the internship program, and supports faculty and students in academic and administrative matters. She started working for CEA CAPA in 2016 as Student Services Advisor and focused on the organization of the Academic-Integrated Cultural Activities Program (AICAP) until 2021.
Eli majored in History from the University of Barcelona and was lucky enough to study abroad in Lyons, France as an undergraduate student. After college, she lived in Santa Cruz, California, for a few months before pursuing her Master's in International Studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Fundació CIDOB). Eli started working in the International Higher Education field in 2013 working for a study abroad organization that gave her the opportunity to move to Colorado where she stayed for over 2 years teaching Spanish as a second language. Eli is fluent in four languages and in her free time, enjoys running in Collserola and watching movies with her friends at home.

Chiara Meneguzzi
Chiara began her career as an archaeologist and researcher, delving into Roman sites across Cambridge and London. Transitioning into museum and fashion management, she discovered a passion for sustainability and the environment. Driven by her commitment to sustainability, Chiara has delved into the world of sustainable fashion, particularly vintage and upcycled clothing. Her journey has taken her from the halls of academia to the forefront of projects encompassing TED events, climate finance, and climate action.
Passionate about education and adept at networking, at CEA CAPA Chiara channels her energy into expanding work experience opportunities, empowering students to strengthen their profiles and make meaningful contributions to society.
Alongside her professional endeavors, Chiara finds solace in exploring museums and immersing herself in history.
Benjamin Sidney
Cristina Serrano-Baixauli
Cristina provides support in the planning and coordination of housing, activities, and trips, including the coordination of volunteering & internship placements, and she acts as a liaison regarding other aspects of student services onsite. Cristina is from Valencia, and she holds a degree in Translation & Interpreting from the University of Granada. She describes herself as a language enthusiast and has extensive experience studying and working abroad. She studied for two semesters at Wilhelms-Wesfälische University in Münster, Germany. After graduation, Cristina worked two years as Spanish language assistant in Saarland, Germany, and for one year as a Spanish teacher in Warsaw, Poland. She has also worked as translator of scientific articles into English for peer-reviewed journals. She always encourages students to get involved with the community and to explore Granada as much as possible.
In her free time, she loves reading, belly dancing, and traveling. Cristina uses her experience and her passion for meeting people from different cultures to provide students with the most supportive, enriching, and successful time possible in Granada.
Justine Mons
Justine comes to CEA CAPA after working at a student accommodation in the center of Grenoble. Through this work, with French and foreign students, she discovered her desire and passion for education. Prior to CEA CAPA, Justine studied English and foreign civilizations and cultures. She has previously worked as a buyer, a role requiring her to remotely coordinate with 50 other colleagues. These roles bring Justine into the Director position with prior experience in working with students, local stakeholders in Grenoble, and working remotely with teams to accomplish tasks.
Justine has lived abroad in Australia but was born in Grenoble, and is excited about our CEA CAPA commitment to deepening student learning and engagement in the local community.
Brie Anne Dombrowski
Brie, originally from Maine in the US, has been living abroad since 2011. After obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Sociology she moved to Tokyo, where she taught English for 8 years and was very active in the international theater scene. In 2019 she moved to France, where she studied theater at the prestigious Cours Florent and intensively learned French. Brie has always been interested in creating connections and deeper understanding with and between the other members of our global community. In her free time she enjoys roller skating, creating art in various mediums, and spending time with her two cats.

Victoria Pope
Sabrina Khellaf
Sabrina joined CEA CAPA in 2021 as a Program Coordinator dedicated to sourcing and coordinating CEA CAPA Internships. She also contributes to all areas of program coordination, including assisting with Student Housing, Orientation sessions, activities and excursions.
Sabrina is bi-national (Franco-Algerian) and tri-lingual (French, Arabic and English). She graduated from EHEC in Algeria, before moving to Paris to complete her master’s degree at Ecole Supérieur de Gestion et Communication (ESGCI). Upon graduation, Sabrina moved back to Algiers where she worked as an Account Manager for Mc CANN Algiers, an advertising agency where she had the opportunity to work on several key accounts such as Nestlé, BNP Paribas, and Johnson&Johnson! Sabrina then moved to Toronto, Canada to pursue graduate business studies. After earning her degree, she worked in Toronto as a Student Services Advisor for international students at her university. Back in Paris after an amazing experience in Toronto, Sabrina loves to share her enthusiasm for international studies and professional experiences with CEA CAPA students!
Martin Brokeš
As Senior Program Manager, Martin maintains a network of host sites where CEA CAPA students can complete internships. He counsels students before the program begins to best match interns and placements. He also provides support and guidance to internship students on-site.
He holds a master’s degree in International Human Resource Management from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. During his studies, Martin completed two internships in Russia and Taiwan, where he was facilitating cross-cultural intelligence workshops. He taught himself Spanish while backpacking in South America. Martin has held various HR positions in the corporate sector. His work assignments were in the UK, Germany, and the Czech Republic. He has been involved in various NGOs and worked as a camp counselor at summer camps in the UK and Czech Republic.
Martin is passionate about psychology and philosophy, community development, education and facilitation, languages, and foreign cultures. He is a curious learner, explorer, swimmer, hiker, and meditator. Martin is not an artistic soul but likes to sometimes play ukulele.
Pavla Hora
Pavla (she/her) is a learning and development professional with additional experience in international relocation and customer service. She has collected many positive experiences during years of studying, living, and working in the USA, the Czech Republic, and Germany, and uses them to inform her everyday encounters as well as her worldview. Pavla believes that we all write our own story and hers has been pretty eventful and colorful so far. She enjoys sharing and listening and believes that meaningful communication is key to both professional and personal relationships.
Petra Zavadilova
Petra assists with maintaining and expanding the network of host sites where students conduct their internships. She guides students prior to their internships and ensures placements align with students’ academic and professional aspirations, while also serving as primary liaison between students and host organizations throughout the internship process. Petra has worked in operational and administrative functions with an emphasis on employee management for international companies in the Czech Republic and abroad. Recently, she handled immigration-related tasks for expatriates living or planning to relocate into the Czech Republic. Petra holds a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and, while there, earned All-American swimming awards. She is passionate about Spanish culture and language and spent time living and working in Colombia.
Chiara Ortolani
A native of Rome, Chiara has many years of experience working for American multinational companies such as Microsoft, Hertz, and Merck Sharp & Dohme. She earned her MA in Marketing and Product Management from Il Sole 24 Ore Business School in Rome, and holds a BA in Business Studies from Staffordshire University (UK). In addition to her native Italian, she also speaks English, Spanish and French.
Kevin Francis Whalen
Kevin Francis Whalen, a New York City native, is the Career and Internship Coordinator in Seville, Spain. He holds a B.S. in Communications, a Master's in Secondary Education, as well as a Master's in Business and is also an entrepreneur and investor. Kevin has a wealth of experience in developing new internship opportunities in Seville and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of companies and organizations across various sectors. His passion is matching students with the best possible internship that aligns with their interests, skills, and career goals. Throughout the internship process, Kevin provides unwavering support to the students, guiding them through the application process, preparing them for interviews, and providing career advice. Kevin is a firm believer in the power of international internships to provide valuable learning experiences and prepare students for the workforce.
Michaela Yisrael
Michaela manages the partner institution matriculation processes, guides students through their study abroad experience, and ensures international internship students have a fulfilling professional and academic experience. She is committed to helping students achieve their educational and career goals while also experiencing the cultural richness of Seville. Originally from New York City, Michaela has resided in Spain for over a decade. She holds a master’s degree in teaching from La Universidad de Alcala de Henares in Madrid and a bachelor’s degree in political science from The City University of New York (CUNY) at Baruch College. After studying abroad in Salamanca, Spain, she became fond of Spain. Since then, Michaela has gained extensive experience in education program development and international student recruitment in various Spanish, American, and international firms. Outside of work with CEA CAPA, Michaela enjoys exploring diverse cultures and traditions, including gastronomy, folklore, and music. She has a keen interest in travel and is excited to share her love of exploring new places with her and her husband’s son Malik, who was born in January 2022. She also embraces her entrepreneurial spirit by working for her family’s security firm.
