The course purpose for students is to gain a basic understanding of the historical and contemporary sport management issues and apply academic critical thinking, when solving challenges.
Introduce students to the importance of approaching management tasks of various stakeholders in sport enterprises and collaboration (e.g. teams, events, sport partnerships, associations). They will learn how to build, develop, activate and motivate their own organisation as well as serving various stakeholder interests. They will then learn how to balance the relationships between sports organisations and businesses to leverage the most value for both sides and evaluate this value to deliver solid return on investment for all stakeholders.
Students will be able to work within a sports team or club, sports venue, national or Olympic representation or on the client side of a partnership project. There, they will be able to set a solid business strategy and activation program but also make good political decisions reflecting a wide range of stakeholders. All various strategic points will focus around the central point of driving strategy and activity that will lead to measurement and results driven actions.
